On-Demand Programming

Date Last Updated: April 15, 2021

On-Demand Programming, in the context of content consumption, is video content that is being consumed by the viewer, where the viewer has control of the viewing timeline, i.e. the programming is scheduled by the viewer themselves, i.e. the viewer decides when to watch what program. Examples include an IPTV VOD portal or OTT On Demand application where the user selects what to watch and when to watch it. On-Demand Programming can contain both Live Content (e.g. a sports game delayed using a recording of the live event, see Live Content) and Non-Live Content (e.g., movie, e.g. show, see Non-Live Content).
